Socialism and Banks

Do you honestly know why socialism doesn't work?
Most people believe that its because there is no reason to do over the top work and do your best (this is of course because everyone is "equal" in socialism, so the laziest and hardest working people get the same EVERYTHING). This is a very valid point but isn't enough to stop people from choosing this economic system, this problem can be solved by shooting people (come on, all the socialist leaders are doing it these days).

I'll explain the real reason socialism won't work in this little scenaio so you understand. So theres a couple of grocery stores by your house, J-Mart and Wal-Store. Their prices arn't much different but are driven down by each other because of competition, but it happens that J-Mart is closer to you, so you go there. Well a year or two later you find out that J-Mart had bad upper management and is going out of buisness. No biggy to you, you can just go to Wal-Store now, everyones happy, and a new competion, Food Tiger gets opened up by some guy.

Now lets plug in socialism. You have Nationalised Grocery Store (NGS). You don't mind the grocery store because it has everything you need (except good customer service, because nobody works hard). Then the first problem hits, a war starts and the government needs money, so they just charge more at NGS. Hmm... sucks for you. Later that year, it comes out that the upper management has been stealing money and has done a terrible job running the buisness and the govenment has to shut it down. WHOA!!! What now?!?! NGS is the ONLY grocery store, and its illegal to open a new one. You starve, sorry.

So how does this relate to now? Nationalised banks. We must not let this happen, if seemingly stable banks fall, you can just switch banks. If a nationised bank falls (which is just as likely, if not more likely than public banks) then were all out of luck and money. That is not the future I invision, so I say no to socilism.
